Burn A Day, Reset

Sometimes you just gotta burn a day. That’s what Pete Holmes would say on his podcast. There are those days where you just want to close the shades, lie in bed, and do nothing all day. Yesterday was that day for me, albeit self-inflicted. I shuttled L to robotics class, which she loves, took B to the park and ran some errands. But when we got home, the rest of the day would be burned.

It wasn’t a total lounge day. I still had to feed and tend to the girls. I watched football and might have had a little nap. I felt bad. It was a beautiful day, and we just stayed inside. The girls didn’t complain. They liked watching videos and playing video games. B did some craft-type stuff that I helped with. She also played with some of the new toys she got from her birthday party.

Today, I regroup. I must check off all of my power list items, no matter what. I need to write. I need to do something to advance Naughty Week. I did do a few tweets from George yesterday. I also came to the realization of the commitment I made to that. Wow. Even at just one tweet a day, that’s something I really need to keep up with. Maybe I’ll work on more of those. I use Tweek Deck so I can do a bunch and schedule them. I could also work on my email list. There are more emails I need to add. I can also reach out to the folks that bought my book and ask for a review. There’s always more to do.

I need to read also. The Phantom Tollbooth is such a clever book. I’m really enjoying it. I’m only about a third of the way through.

I have errands to run. I need a headlight and oil for my car. I have some groceries I need to pick up. I need to buy a brush. I also want to exercise. I’m scheduled to go on a hike this afternoon, but I also want to do some additional exercise like weights or abs or something.

Time to reset.
