The weather has cooled down, finally. I’m sitting here at my desk with the sliding glass door open, and I can feel the cool air. It’s wonderful. My coconut oil is still liquified. That will be the official changeover of seasons, when it’s below 71 degrees inside and my coconut oil hardens.
I should really check my action plan for Naughty Week. There’s a bunch of things I need to do to prep for the November push. The newsletter is one of them. I was having second thoughts about sending it, but I know it’s a good way to reach people that are not on Facebook, and there are a lot of people I’ve crossed paths with that are not on Facebook.
I listened to about an hour of audio for the Naughty Week audiobook. For the most part, it’s really solid. There were a few things that needed to be corrected, but not too much. I am generally pleased with it. Kira is great. I hope people love it. I’ll need to listen to another hour today to keep that pace going. Somehow I’m going to need to pay for it when it’s done.
I lowered the daily budget on my AMS ads yesterday. And then I made four sales. Or at least four new sales showed up on my KDP dashboard. But that just means four copies had shipped. Those were sales made on Friday or Saturday most likely. It’s hard to decipher whether the sales are coming from ads, but I guess if I compare the sales in the AMS dashboard to the sales on the KDP dashboard, it should sync up a bit. I know not all sales are coming from ads, though. I’m still getting a friends-and-family bump. And that’s why the newsletter is so important. More friends, more family, lots of former colleagues.
There’s a video I need to watch regarding newsletters. I think I’m going to keep mine very simple. It would be nice to have a draft done Thursday and then send it out on Friday. I also want to make sure I’m not sending it out when there is big news happening, like some political bombshell or an earthquake or hurricane or something.
I need to do a Facebook post. I think today I’ll do a thanks to another indie author that helped me. It’s easy enough. It keeps people aware of everything. It might even spark some engagement from the high school alums on FB. We’ll see.
And, of course, the Lucky Day outline. I am three-quarters of the way through. I’m not sure how it’s going to end. I think I’ll keep those details light and then see if I can discover it on my way there. I can continue to refine the outline as I’m writing. That’s one plan.
