Yesterday was a long one, but I ended up checking off everything on my power list. One of the big things I need to do today is to listen through the first big chunk of the audiobook. I’m not sure the best way to go about that. I am considering doing 45 minutes to an hour at a time and reading as I listen. The entire audiobook will be around 5 hours, so there’s not too much pressure to get through it all right away. I have time. I also have no idea how I’m going to afford to pay for it. I might be able to pay off a chunk of my credit card at the end of this week and then pay another chunk mid-November. It might not be enough, though. I need to keep the AMS ads alive as well, which is costing money.

I need to take a closer look at the AMS ads. I’m thinking I’ll either need to lower my daily budget or pause it completely until Thanksgiving. As of this morning, I’ve spent $191.22 and have sold 20 copies. My overall ACOS is 71.08%. The ACOS on my primary campaign is 68.46%. They say an ACOS score of under 70% is good. From my point of view, I’m spending too much and not making enough return on my investment. I think I’ll lower my daily budget this week and maybe bump it up on November 1.

I received an interesting message from someone on Facebook yesterday. She said she was thinking about getting Naughty Week for her son, but she’s not sure if it’s good for his age. She wanted pictures of the first few pages of the book. I looked her up, and on her profile picture she was sitting next to a man that looked like an old neighborhood friend of mine. I thought it might have been his wife but when I looked him up, there was no sign of her. It seems like she just randomly reached out to me on Facebook. I was thrown a little. I didn’t want to send her pictures of pages of my book. So instead I sent her the first few chapters as a PDF. Of course, the whole time I’m wondering how I’m being scammed. That’s what it’s come to these days. Why would she take all that time to reach out? She couldn’t see the “Look Inside” feature on Amazon? I sent the chapters anyway, giving her the benefit of the doubt. She seemed like a real person. And I’d rather this be a really cool way to connect with my audience as opposed to ignoring her and assuming she’s trying to scam me. She appreciated how quickly I got back to her and told me she was going to buy the book today. If this is real, then I did the right thing. I don’t mind going out of my way to answer questions or help people if it’s legitimate.

L and B have another fire day today. No school. The one day I don’t check my email right away, there are like four emails saying they don’t have school. And a text, and a phone message.
