I received my first Amazon book review. What an exciting bit of social proof! It was posted by a family member. After he emailed me on Sunday to tell me he finished reading Naughty Week, I asked him nicely for an Amazon book review. I knew it would be an honest, thoughtful book review.
He reached out to say the book review went live yesterday. He gave me four stars.
Four stars?!
Okay, I’ll take it. It’s probably a good thing to have a balance of ratings instead of 100% five-star Amazon book review ratings.
I did a lot of thinking on my drive down to Irvine yesterday. I had some good thoughts, some dark thoughts, some sad thoughts, and some general thoughts.
Thinking can be a good thing, but it can often be a bad thing—at least for me. I am trying to live more in the present now. It’s hard living like this when my life was in such a good place. I had it all, or so I thought, except a career. In the end, that’s what got me. So now I need to focus on my career. There is so much potential right now. Between the TV projects, Operation Bombshell, and Naughty Week, I have a lot going for me.
It’s hard, but whenever I slip into the past, what used to be, what could have been, I need to catch myself. This is something I learned reading some book or another during the summer of 2018.
My meeting yesterday went well. As much as I don’t like working this day job—mostly due to it not being what I want my career to be—the meetings are good for me. They definitely take my mind off of things. I’ve got it down to a science now. The guy yesterday talked my ear off about trailers—dump trailers, flatbed trailers, enclosed trailers, concessions trailers, and tow dollies. This guy found a niche and is doing very well for himself.
I decided I am better off with certain people in my life. Someone, in particular, is one of the few positive forces I have going for me. She isn’t very needy and understands my financial situation and my career goals. It’s a good thing. Maybe one day it can be a great thing. I like spending time with her. She was one of the first to purchase my book, and I’m certain she’ll give me an Amazon book review.
