November is coming up. It’s National Novel Writing Month a.k.a. #nanowrimo. I’ve been considering whether to do nanowrimo this year. I tried it a couple of years ago. In fact, it’s what initially got Naughty Week going as a book project.
Funny side note about when I initially attempted to do nanowrimo…
When it came time to figure out what to write, I considered turning Naughty Week into a novel. However, my research suggested that independent authors made more money writing romance novels.
Yes, I actually considered writing a romance novel. In the end, I went with the project that I was more passionate about (pardon the turn of phrase), and so I started writing Naughty Week.
I am going to post on Facebook about it and mention that Naughty Week initially started as a NaNoWriMo project. It’ll be a nice Friday post and may encourage some engagement. I can ask if anyone else is committing to do nanowrimo this year. I’ll have to work on that post a bit. It’s going to need to be well thought out.
I did some more writing yesterday on the Naughty Week follow up book, which I am tentatively calling Lucky Day. If I want to do nanowrimo, then this I can time it just right to have a completed outline in time for November 1.
I have more of a handle on this project than I have on the Swedish Fish. To be honest, the Swedish Fish has been emotionally tough to write. It takes me back to a time that I am trying to forget and move on from. It has been so difficult to move on. Anyway, Lucky Day is starting to form something of a structure.
Advertising update: While I haven’t been as obsessed with my AMS ads and ACOS score, I did check them a few times throughout the day. I tend to do that when I don’t have much else going on, such as client meetings or being out of the house on a hike or running errands.
I changed my primary campaign to paperback. Within 24 hours I had two sales. That’s pretty significant. My daily spend was up, but if I continue having sales like this, then that should not be an issue.
My overall ACOS is high, but the ACOS for this campaign is actually really good. It’s below 30% right now. I’m interested in seeing what my numbers are right now, but I am going to resist checking before I take the girls to school.
Email list and newsletter update: I am slowly building my email list. I still have a long way to go. I should have the email list done within a week, and then I need to start working on writing the newsletter. That will be a job.
